ORGANGISE AND BREWERY SPRING TO MIND HERE.
The notice in the Star says the one way system is suspended.
The notice is also on the lamp post on the dock.
All along the docks still are arrows denoting one way still.
This is a month after the one way system was suspended.
There is only a single carriage way for traffic going in two
directions now and the confrontations are a delight.

GRIFFIN WHARF WHICH IS NOW UNLAWFULLY GATED.
Originally we would drive along the Wharf on a tarmac
road to the Live & Let Live Pub entrance on
Wherstead Road. Or we could walk along the river
to Bourne Bridge. This is a Public Right of Way as
can be observed from the fact there was a public
swimming baths here in living memory. I can recall
it and other supporters have swum here.

MORE ANGLO-NORDEN NAUGHTINESS.
There are provisions for the road to be blocked
when unloading/loading a ship. The Public Right
of Way on foot must not be blocked though and
that is what is happening here. I feel sorry for
the folks who bought an appartment here. Still I
suppose they will all become social housing
eventually as the values fall and rents no longer
cover mortgages.

TIMBERS GONE AT LAST.
Anglo-Norden do not appear to be taking it very well.
They have banned car parking on the Quay now.
The notice is wrong. It isn't a Private Quay. It is a
Privately owned public quay which Anglo-Norden
probably leases off ABP or IBC. I await their next
move with interest.

IPSWICH DOCKS ACT 1852.
Here are a the relevent pages out of a 60 page Act. The Act makes
it plain a 30 foot wide road goes all around the dock and the New
Cut has a 40 foot wide road each side. It is plain these are roads
to be used by the public without restriction or obstruction. It is
also stated the wharfs and quays are only to be used for unloading
and loading goods. The timber stored by Anglo Norden is being
stored unlawfully. The various gates at points around the dock
and on the New Cut are also unlawful obstructions of the road.
This is in effect a Public Nuisance under Common Law and it is
possible to have folks taken before a Magistrates Court for this
offence. The Act quoted above is a repeat of the original 1837 Act
which was the first Act. This Act above was followed by the 1877
Act, the 1913 Act and the 1918 Act which in effect altered nowt
as they were mainly enacted to allow a gate to be erected on the
New Cut East but that never happened as by the time the Act
had been passed there was a tram service along that road too.

I AM ON BAIL FOR REMOVING THESE UNLAWFUL GATES.
I spent 6 hours in the cells and then I was offered a caution. Not
likely. I refused a caution and I have now been back to the cop
shop twice, the latest being Monday 24-9-07 and still the CPS
will not charge me. My solicitor offered to write to the CPS and
try to get the charges dropped. No way. After 6 hours in the
cooler I want to see this come to court so I can prove Associated
British Ports are acting unlawfully by erecting these gates.

ANGLO NORDEN DEFY THE LAW WITH HELP.
The Ipswich Dock Acts from 1837 to date forbid this.
The wharfs and quays are for loading/unloading and
not storage. The body responsible for ensuring this is
Associated British Ports who are the Port Operators.
The body responsible for policing this as the Highway
Authority is Ipswich Borough Council as they have an
agency agreement with Suffolk County Council.
IBC have an arrangement with ABP whereby they
lease the very areas they are supposed to enforce the
law. This storing of timber is unlawful as the Ipswich
Dock Acts require a 30 foot space between the waters
edge and the nearest obstruction to free air (think
saling barges) and excludes any storage or building.
The 30 foot space is required all around the dock and
a space of 40 foot both sides of the New Cut. By law
ABP are responsible for all maintenance of these
roads but IBC is spending our money placing street
furniture around the dock and New Cut. Anglo Norden
should be required by IBC to remove the timber and
ABP should be required by IBC to keep the roads clear.
I contact the Health and Safety Executive whenever I
see kids climbing on the timber. Go to look here;
http://www.hse.gov.uk/notices search geographical,
then Ipswich and you will see Anglo Norden have a few
reports against them. Complain to James Hehir at
Ipswich Borough Council and encourage others to do
the same.

IPSWICH DOCK ACT 1918.

I read the 1913 Act and it does provide for the 'stopping up' of
New Cut East.That was concerning although distant memory
( that is about all I have now) recalled some provision that
favoured the Right of Way not being 'stopped up' and I was
correct for once. The 1913 Act provides for the New Cut to be
'stopped up' but only with the consent of the Council and the
erection of the gate. The council refused permission and the
war intervened so the gate was not erected and thus the New
Cut was not 'stopped up'. However there was then the 1918
Act which neatly side stepped the need for permission from
the Council but still depended upon the gate being erected
and I cannot find any evidence this happened. There are over
400 members of SuffolkRights Of Way Limited and some are
in their 90's and none can recall a gate being erected so that
is the end of that and New Cut East is now, in my
opinion unlawfully gated and blocked off:-)
